Sunday, August 21st, 2011

Sound Control is becoming more of a mainstream topic. The recent issue of Walls an Ceilings featured this Soundproofing Article. The more the topic is discussed the more exposure it gets and the more standard it will become as part of the building process. We will be on the lookout for any other Sound Proofing Articles and keep you posted.

Sound Complaints in Hotels

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

With all our blogging on simple sound proofing techniques and ideas you would think some folks would listen:) Once again we see how no pre planing can come back to hurt you in a BIG way. The Dream Downtown Hotel spent millions on their new glamorous hotel yet forgot about certain basic soundproofing. Hotel Staying couples are complaining of not being able to sleep to to the noise from the pool on the roof to the noise from the bar below (no escaping the noise here!). Additionally simple sound rated door bottoms and gasketing would go a long way in making sure that the doors do not banged and that guests do not hear the banging in their rooms. Well let’s hope the next Hotel chain sees this post before post (pun intended) construction headaches kick in.
