I'M TRYING TO MAKE A SOUNDPROOF,BLACKOUT PANEL TO PUT IN FRONT OF MY BEDROOM WINDOWS..I think I may be able to do this myself but I want it to be light, , so I can just put them up at night, instead of a drape. What materials would u suggest?

I can see where it would be amusing to you if someone was trying to soundproof by using egg crates.

However, when it comes to sound recording, egg crates intermingled with foam squares are a very cheap and easily installed way to break up those flat reflective surfaces. There is nothing amusing about the cost of studio foam. Egg crates are a good way to get your recording studio up and started in a hurry, while giving you time to replace the crates with the high quality studio foam as you can afford it.
